Information on eco-industrial park presented in Baku

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The Baku-based OSCE resident office in collaboration with public union “Debate in Civil Society” has organized summer school Green Corps with the purpose to provide essential knowledge in eco-management, project making and management.

Tamiz Shahar OJSC reports that the lectures of the summer school conducted from 31 August to 5 September were by native and foreign trainers qualified in ecology and management fields.

Head of Tamiz Shahar Project Management & Public Relations Department Ogtay Mammadov also participated in the summer school as a trainer. During lectures on “Project Management” he detailed information about realized waste management projects, Waste-to-Energy Plant, and Material Recovery Facility.

In the lectures the school participants were given detailed information about works realized for establishment of Balakhani Eco-Industrial Park that is being created according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated 28 December 2011, in order to provide development of recycling industry in our country, to increase young entrepreneurs’ interest in this field, future plans and green business opportunities. It was also mentioned that waste management is not only a process providing environmental protection, if proper management and mechanisms are used, it can also be a business opportunity supporting healthy social-economic development.
